Connect To Your Roots Through Music
Have you ever heard a song that transports you back to a wonderfully specific moment in time that you just treasure? Those moments make your heart sing and maybe even your voice! The month of July at Family Connections Experiment is dedicated to connecting with your homeland and what better way to do that than by learning more and listening to the music of those places.
In my Abuela’s kitchen
Food plays an important part in our family life; it is around the kitchen table that families can share about their lives and where we get to know each other better. It is important for families to eat together but life’s occupations like work, school, sports, etc. often seem to get in the way. Around the kitchen table is a place where we can form a sense of togetherness with our loved ones. Since our families usually live busy lives, pick a time that works for you and make a commitment to spend time together.
Update Your Family
A very important part of getting together at family reunions is catching up with everyone. You might be seeing relatives that you haven’t seen in a few weeks or relatives you haven’t seen in a few decades and everything in between. Getting together and making connections by sharing memories and photos and what you have been up to is a great idea. There are many different ways you could do this.
Swapping Stuff? Use Google Photos!
Is everyone getting ready for a virtual family reunion soon and you are wondering how to have the same experiences you had as a kid being able to sit around and hand around photo albums? Or exchange pictures of recent trips or major events? Well luckily even though the world has changed and we might not be able to meet in person we will still be able to share all of those awesome photos.
