Never been to a Twitter Party? Here’s what you need to know!
What is a Twitter Party?
A Twitter Party is a live chat using the Twitter social media platform and the hashtag search feature to connect participants to the conversation stream.
The 21 Day Family Connections Experiment is moderated by a host as well as co-panelists from the genealogy community.
The 21 Day Connections Twitter party typically has eight questions for attendees to chat about. The questions are numbered for attendees to more easily follow along.
For example @21DayConnect may tweet:
Q1: What is your preferred method of journaling #21DayExperiment
You would answer:
A1: I prefer using paper/pen when journaling #21DayExperiment
Feel free to respond to other attendees’ answers and ask questions as well! Twitter parties are a fantastic way to talk with others in the genealogy community!
Tips for your first Twitter Party
- Know the date and/or time.
- Follow the Twitter party hosts.
- Know and use the party hashtag. Every Twitter party has a designated hashtag i.e. #21DayExperiment. Make sure to use the hashtag in every tweet you post or it won’t show up in the party conversation.
- Stay on topic.
- Retweet or heart any questions/comments that you like!
